Presentation to U-M Center for Engineering Diversity and Outreach (CEDO)

Yes, this seems like University of Michigan month!  On September 21, I spoke to a group of students, staff and program advisers, at the invitation of director Derrick Scott and managing director Robert Scott.  During his introduction, Robert pointed out to guests that he and I were classmates in the College of Engineering in the ancient past.  How times have changed!  CoE is thriving, and new initiatives by CEDO such as the NextProf initiative hold the promise of an even more vibrant, inclusive College.

My remarks centered on my experiences in Flint and at U-M Ann Arbor, and how those experiences prepared me for a grueling yet rewarding entrepreneurial journey.  I had a great time meeting and interacting with the guests, all of whom received a copy of Proving Ground: A Memoir, compliments of CEDO.

Thanks to Derrick and Robert and to the College of Engineering students, CEDO staff, and program advisers who attended.
