Day 6: City by the Bay

Time to kill in San Francisco – what to do? Well, after waking up on Aaron’s sofa, I freshened up and drove down to Fisherman’s Wharf. Found a parking lot that let me park all day for $9.50, as long as I entered the lot between 9 and 10. It was only 8:30, so I grabbed a quick breakfast at La Boulange on Columbus before tucking the car away.

After breakfast, spent some time vegging and working on the computer (NO!) in the lobby of the Argonaut Hotel. I wanted to do the Alcatraz tour, but it was fully booked. Decided to walk down to Pier 41 and take the ferry over to Sausalito for lunch.

Yep, here I am at the tourist ground zero.
Ferrying past Alcatraz – the tour was booked today, as it is most everyday.

Had a great lunch in Sausalito at Salito’s. Really, really good but really expensive. Worth it, though. Walked around Sausalito a bit before catching the 3:45 ferry back to the Wharf. More vegging and working in the Argonaut lobby. Met Aaron and Bri for dinner at Thai Stick on Fillmore. Watched the Rockets beat the Clippers. Back to Aaron’s sofa. Rinse and repeat.
