Livin’ for the City – Fall 2025 Edition

Wow! Seems like the semester just began, and here we are just four weeks from the end! I couldn’t let this edition of my Innovation for Urban Impact class pass into the sunset without recapping the Urban Experience Tour of Detroit that my students and I took on September 20. This semester, we were joined by several student guests from the U-M Center for Entrepreneurship. Our tour hosts were gracious and insightful, the students were excited and informed, and I am grateful. Take a few minutes and check out one or more of the recordings we produced following the tour. You will be entertained!

Full Tour Video

In just seven minutes and 30 seconds, this video gives a pretty good overview of the student’s tour experience, and highlights some of our tour hosts.

Flash Mob Video

This short (36 seconds) video shows the “flash mob” performance that I and my students flawlessly executed at the Motown Museum. Always fun, and the students are such good sports!

Slide Show

The slide show presents a collection of still images we recorded on the tour. Less than two minutes.

Deep Dive Podcast

This podcast, generated by the Google NotebookLM AI tool, gives a pretty good summary of the reflections the students generated after the tour. Though the podcast “hosts” are AI-generated bots, the discussion is thorough and entertaining! Roughly fourteen minutes.
